What personal data we handle
We handle the business contact details of people at our clients, owners, charterers and partners, such as name, company, job title, email address, phone number and ICE handle, together with the correspondence and fixture details needed to do our work.
This website does not use contact forms or advertising trackers.
Why we handle it and on what basis
- To negotiate and carry out chartering, sale and purchase and other shipping contracts (contract, or steps before a contract).
- To keep in touch with existing and potential business contacts in the shipping market (our legitimate interest).
- To keep accounting and other records required by law (legal obligation).
Where the data comes from
Mainly from the people themselves and their employers, and from normal market sources such as industry directories and messaging services used in shipping.
Who we share it with
We share details only where the work requires it, for example with the other parties to a fixture, and with service providers who run our email and IT systems and this website. Some of these providers may process data outside the EU/EEA; where they do, they use safeguards approved under EU law, such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
Contact details are kept for as long as we have a business relationship or reason to stay in touch, and deleted or updated when no longer needed. Contract and accounting records are kept for as long as the law requires.
Your rights
You can ask to see the data we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, restrict or object to its use, and receive it in a portable format where this applies. Contact us at chartering@eirashipping.com . You also have the right to complain to the Finnish Data Protection Ombudsman (tietosuoja.fi).
Cookies
This website uses only technically necessary cookies. The website platform sets a session cookie (JSESSIONID), which is deleted when you close your browser, and a load-balancing cookie (AWSALB), which keeps your connection on the same server. These cookies do not track you and do not require consent.
The platform collects anonymous visitor statistics, such as the number of visits and page views, without using cookies.
The website platform loads some standard program libraries from Google's servers (Google Hosted Libraries). When the page is opened, your browser's IP address is sent to Google for this purpose. Google does not set cookies for this service.
